The monocyte shows a large nucleus with little room around the outside. The eosinophil shows a two-lobed nucleus (two pieces held together by a thin part like a string) and lots of red granules or dots in the cell. The basophil shows a two-lobed nucleus as well, but blueish granules or dots in the cell. Lymphocytes show nuclei that take up the entire cell. The neutrophil shows a cell with three lobes in its nucleus.
